Description :Present article is discussed and compared about the changes of Oriya drama and theatre from ancient to modern time and sheds some light on the development of Oriya theatre in the modern time by research on it and finds that happy sign that the public is now sympathetic and more active to joining hands with artists in building up a modern theatre a truly national theatre which, crowned with the glories of the past, must provide inspiration and joy at the present hour and create a radiant dawn tomorrow.
