Description :Present article is about Hanuman and traditional Indian theatre. In puranic literature Valmiki has portrayed Hnauman in such a way that he is neither a monkey nor a man nor a god yet he is unmistakably all these.Its also described various traditional theatre and role of Hanuman in these theatres like Hanuman mask in Sahi Jatra, Hanuman mask in Ramleela in Varanasi, Hanuman in Koodiyattam and Kathakali and shadow theatre. Apart from the human-theatre, Hanuman is delineated in the traditional puppet-theatre with great variety.
