Coin mould

  • Description :Stratum: Pit 1 sealed by Layer 2
    This is a coin mould made of baked clay. Surface is rough and colour is brown. Round in shape. The depression in the mould suggests the figurine of Kartikaya God. The deity is shown standing holding a spear. The ""Vahana"" of Kartikaya shown near to his feet. Moreover, the inscription around the depression is giving prominence to the figurine in the mould. The coin moulds was used to cast coins for currency purpose.
