Description :The Thangkhul nagas are one of the dominant tribal group who are largely concertrated in the ukhrul district of manipur. Ram shak shim literally means the houses of a richman. This typical house is adorned with a long and cross wooden projection on its frontal fringe. It Marks the social status of the owner. Elaborately carved frontal facade of the house has manifold significance. A series of motif symbolising the buffalo skulls to the surface of upright pillars gives the meaning that the owner had sacrificed a good number of domestic wealth to hoist a feast in constructing the house.
