Description :Traditional house in Kerela have mostly been built up of bricks by cutting laterite where roof is built of coconut leaqves. None of the villager had the permission to construct house higher than the temple hight. Only higher caste people could use the roof tiles. Everything have now undergone change. Only few house that were made of wood to house the big joint families (Taravad) have been remaining Nairs on account of their important contribution in army and administration, used to occupy a prominent place in villages. To construct a house without use of an iron-nail hase been a unique feature of Nalukettu technology.
