Description :Present article is focused on the Kashmiri theatre. Kashmir Theatre Srinagar which was formed in June-I973 with a thrilling programme of 'magic in make-up' by Dr. Chandersekhram of Tamil Nadu took up independent work without joining the federation of groups and produced Autar Krishen Rehber's historical play Badshah and G.R. Santosh's verse-play Aknandun and Marlowe's Dr. Faustus-in Kashmiri by Makhanlal Saraf.Only 30-years have gone by, since Theatre in Kashmir was resurrected after a long history of subjugation of the Kashmiri people.
