Description :This article discuss about the Thiruppugazh is a 15th-century anthology of Tamil religious songs dedicated to Lord Murugan, the son of Lord Shivan. As regards tala, the tiruppugazh songs are the only authoritative lakshyas for most of the talas in our system ofmusic, named and unnamed. Arunagirinatha was thus a rare musical genius and his Tiruppugazh songs will continue to influence musical thinking for centuries to come. Several hundreds of them have already been printed with notation and are spreading fast among musicians and music lovers.
