Description :On September 24, 2014 the first Indian attempt to reach Mars, Mars Orbiter Mission, was successfully was inserted into Martian orbit. During the preceding five weeks, Rajya Sabha TV in association with Vigyan Prasar, DST and NISCAIR, CSIR telecasted a number of programmes titled "Mars and Beyond: Journey of Indian Science'. This paper documents the effort and suggests several lessons for science communicators in India.
