Description :Through the present paper Sangeet Natak Akademi had honored Ganesha Iyer for his path breaking contributions to the revival of Kutiyattarn during the special celebrations held in the headquarters of the Akademi in April 1995. Ganesha Iyer, who was from Thiruvananthapuram, connoisseur and authority on Kathakali and Kutiyarram, an acknowledged expert on Carnatic style classical music and renowned educationist best known for his outstanding and pioneering contribution to the institution of the State School Youth Festival of Kerala as the prime forum of presentation of young talent in the entire gamut of arts in the state, a true savant,passed away in his 92nd year on May 24. 2005.
