  • Description :Gharana is a system of social organization linking musician particular musical style. Its also indicates a comprehensive musicological ideology. Present article is about Rampur Gharana which is closely related to the Gwalior Gharana and Senia Gharana which is related to Tansen the father of Indian Classical Music. Bilas Khan and Naubat Khan formed the root sources of the formation of the Rampur Gharana or the Senia Gharana branch of Rampur. The gharana find its origins in Ustad Mehboob Khan the chief Khayal singer in the royal court of Rampur State. His tradition was followed by his son Ustad Inayat Hussain Khan and in turn by Inyat's brothers-in-law, Ustad Haider Khan and Padma Bhushan Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan.
