Description :This article is about musical intarval and scale Suruti. Shruti is a Sanskrit word found in the Vedic texts of Hinduism. It is also an important concept in Indian music where it means the smallest interval of pitch that the human ear can detect and a singer or musical instrument can produce. The musical sruti concept is found in ancient and medieval Sanskrit texts such as the Natya Shastra the Dattilam, the Brihaddeshi and the Sangita Ratnakara. Scale is a foundational aspects of every musical system. Indian music has evolved a theory of the scale in terms of a unitary and basic concept called the sruti. Indian musical theory has postulated the sruti as the scalic unit in laukika (secular) music since at least two thousand years.
