Description :Folk Theater from Chhattisgarh in which The state of Chhattisgarh has a number of performing art form, Nacha is the most popular and vibrant among them. It is the strongest medium of communication and being very close to the folk life the massages conveyed in Nacha is easily acceptable by the audience. Nacha includes all folk and traditional songs like karma, dadariya, sua, sohar, panthi, pandwani etc. There are four type of Nacha. The first one Khade Saaj Nacha is said to the oldest form. The accompanying musicians play their instruments standing. This form is performed in the light of kerosene lit hand torches known as mashal. Gandawa Nacha is the second form of nacha which is performed by the musicians from Gandawa community mostly during the marriage ceremonies. Only Gandawa Nacha is performed in the day times. remaining other three forms are always held during night. The third form Dewar Nacha is performed by the artists from the Nomadic community Dewar. Comic elements are the most important aspects of Nacha. The fourth form of Nacha is the most popular form known as Baithe Saaj or Gammat Nacha. In Devar Nacha only women dance and perform the female characters. In all of the form male artists play the role of dancers and female character.
